In A Vase On Monday ~ Thumbs Up

It's a definite thumbs up for narcissus 'Tête-à-Tête', which are filling up this week's 'In A Vase On Monday' and are now brightening up the kitchen windowsill. Whilst a good number of my daffodils are 'blind' this year, this old stalwart is as floriferous as ever whether planted in the ground or in containers. I'm especially appreciate of them as a good number of them were purchased as late season bargain buys from Wilkos. A note has been made to add to their numbers this autumn as well as to give some t.l.c. to the afflicted daffies in the hope of better things to come next year.

Thanks to the lovely Cathy over at 'Rambling In The Garden' for the weekly encouragement to fill a vase on a Monday. Domestic duties call for now but am looking forward to some vase visiting this evening.

  1. Oh you can't beat a simple and cheery vase of little narcissus, can you? I keep thinking mine might appreciate a bit of liquid feed, like the snowdrops, but haven't managed it yet! Thanks for sharing

    1. Instant sunshine Cathy :) I must do better with the feeding and dividing. I'm guilty of paying too much attention to those snowdrops at the expense of everything else.

  5. I do love the smaller daffodils like this one. A good idea to give them some feed too, as my soil is not very rich.

    1. My preference is for the smaller daffodils too Cathy. I will have to do better when it comes to feeding!

  6. This one is always a winner, Anna, and ever so cheerful. Have your daffs been in for a long time? Strange thing with this blindness. Some of mine are blind although they've not been in long, others again –like my 2 favourites Geranium and Einstein– are thriving and multiplying happily. Alas, I shall stick to those in future. Happy spring :)

    1. They are definitely winners Annette :) Some of the daffies in pots have been in for some time but others like 'Elka' were only planted in the autumn of 2014. I'm wondering whether last year's very wet winter had some hand in this year's poor show. Happy spring to you too - it's tantalisingly near!

  8. Tête-à-tête are as you say such a reliable performer, also they don't get damaged by the wind and rain.

    1. That's an excellent point Brian - they've certainly stood up well to the dire weather that we've had here over the last couple of days or so.
